- The Haryana government will provide Rs.21,000 to all those families whose third girl child was born under the 'Aapki Beti, Hamari Beti' scheme (after August 24, 2015). They will receive the amount irrespective of their caste, creed, religion, income and number of sons.

- Note : The scheme Is aimed to combat the problem of declining child sex ratio and pro-mote girl's education in the state.
- The Haryana Government has decided to increase the number of Science Clubs' being operated in 'Sanskriti Schools' from 20 to 200 to scale up the interest of youth in science and technology. The financial assistance to these Clubs will be enhanced from Rs.15,000 to Rs.50,000.

- Note : A new projector would be installed at the Department-run 'Kalpana Chawla Memorial Planetarium', Kurukshetra at a cost of about Rs.1.5 crore to Rs.2 crores. The financial assistance of up to 10 lakh would be provided for research and development projects In science.
- The Haryana government has launched 'Operation Durga' to ensure women safety in the state. Flying Squad will visit public places such as schools, colleges, bus stands and railway stations and caught per-sons indulging in crime activities against women like eve-teasing, stalking, harassment and other such activities.
- The Haryana chief minister 'Manohar Lal Khattar' has announced to change the name of Ballabhgarh to Balramgarh. Ballabhgarh is a town and a tehsil (sub-district) in Faddabad District of Haryana and is part of the Nafional Capital Region (NCR).

- Note : The name Ballabgarh is a corruption of Balramgarh (the fort of Balram). Balram Singh, a Jat chief who held the surround-ing country as a feudatory of Suraj Mal of Bharatpur built the Nahar Singh Mahal fort and palace in 1739.
- The Haryana Government has revised the limit of annual income of families living Below Poverty Line (BPL) and those living below Double the Poverty Line (DPL) in both rural and urban areas of the state for various bank-assisted and National Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC)-assisted schemes. The knit of annual income of BPL families has been raised to Rs.49,000 from Rs.40,500 (living in rural) and Rs.60,000 from Rs, 51,500 (living in urban areas). The limit of annual income for the families living below DPL would Rs.98,000 (rural areas) and Rs.1.2 lakh (urban areas).
- Chief Minister of Haryana 'Mahohar Lal Khattar' has launched a mobile-based application 'Kilkari' to create awareness among pregnant women, parents, and health workers. The app 'Kilkari' was launched during the concluding day of the 'State-level Orientation Workshop'. The application 'Kilkari' will deliver 72 times appropriate audio messages to registered mobile num-bers on pregnancy, child, and childbirth care every week from the second trimester of pregnancy till the child is one-year-old.
- To check over-exploitation of water in the dark zone areas of the state, the Haryana government has decided to extensively pro-mote micro irrigation by providing incentives to the farmers. To begin with, 36 over-exploited blocks have been identified under this initiative.
- The second unit of Kudankulam Nuclear Power plant (built with Russian expertise) started commercial generation of powers on 31st March, 2017 in Tamil Nadu. The state is getting 562 MW, Telangana 50 MW, Karnataka 221 MW, Kerala 133 MW and Puduchery 33 MW from the first unit.
- The Union Government has approved Rs.5.24 crore e-governance projects for Himachal Pradesh (HP) under good governance and best practices in India. The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) is all set to launch e-Governance Project to start paperless func-tioning, making It the first PSC of the country to do so.

- The two days national TB summit has been organized with the slogan 'TB Harega, Desh Jeetega' in Dharamshala, Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.

- Note : Tuberculosis (TB) is the potentially serious infectious bacterial disease that mainly affects the lungs. Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association HPCA is organizing this summit.
- The Jammu & Kashmir state government has imposed ban on the use of polythene bags manufactured below fifty microns in the state. The new guidelines and regulations would facilitate proper recycling of plastic waste, reducing its impact on the ecology.
- The Jharkhand Police has initiated 'Tare Zameen Par program' to enlighten children in Naxal- affected areas in the Palamau district, Jharkhand. This program is aimed to restore confidence in the state police force and to encourage children to lead happy lives. The state police appealed the locals to donate bags, shoes, books and clothes to improve the basic amenities of the children in the Naxakatlected areas.
- The Kerala Government has promulgated an Ordinance to make the teaching of 'Malayalam language' mandatory in all schools in the State. The usage of the official language 'Malayalam' has been made compulsory in all government offices from 1st May, 2017.

- The Kerala Government has decided to provide pension to former circus artists in the state. The state govt. has allocated 1.13 crore rupees. Thalassery in Kannur district is considered to be the cradle of Indian circus.
- India signed the first loan agreement with the New Development Bank for USD 350 million for development and upgradation of road project in Madhya Pradesh.

- Note : The objective of the project is upgrade-ton of major district roads in the state of Madhya Pradesh to improve connectivity of the interior areas of the state with the national and state highway networks. The project is to be implemented over 5 yam.
- The Madhya Pradesh government has launched an app named 'MP e-nagarpalika' to provide various municipal services online. This mobile app would encourage the cashless transaction. This mobile app is a part of Rs.225-crore 'e-nagarpalika' project, under which all municipal services would be made available online on a unified web platform.

- Note : This app would offer 378 services like online payment of property tax, seeking building permission, birth/marriage/death certificates etc. It will also register com-plaints related to garbage, water, street-lights etc.
- First time in Indian Railway history 'Habibganj' Railway station in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) has been handed over to the private firm to be operated by it. The station building will be developed in line with air-port terminals. The trains at the station will still be run by the Railways.
- The Union Govt. has announced to confer on Madhya Pradesh the prestigious Krishi Karmen Award 2015-16 for the fifth consecutive year. MP wheat production in 2015-16 stood at 184.10 lakh tons as against 171.03 lakh tons in 2014-15 (rise of 7.64 %). Wheat productivity grew to 3,115 kilograms per hectare in the state (last yeas 2,850 kgs per hectare). The award instituted by the Agriculture Ministry carries a trophy, citation & cash prize of Rs.2 crores and also cash reward of Rs 2 lakh rupees will be handed over to a woman and a male farmer as 'best wheat producer'.
- The Maharashtra government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Railways to expand the green cover. Trees will be planted on the land adjacent to the railway tracks in the state. The state Forest department has planned to plant 4 crore trees across the state till 1st July 2017.
- The 'Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation' (MTDC) has signed an agreement with Etihad and Jet Airways' to attract visitors to the state and to leverage on the airline's expanding international network. Etihad and Jet Airways will pro-vide information to its users on less-explored but high potential destinations in Maharashtra. There will be joint marketing activities to promote Maharashtra as a leisure destination.
- A satellite port will come up at Vijayadurg in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. The facility will be built under the Centre's Integrated Port Development Scheme.
- The Telangana Chief General Manager of BSNL 'Ananthram' has launched the 5 G Plus WiFi services at four spots in Hyderabad.
- The 45 G services will provide higher' speeds of Data than any other service provider to its existing customers.
- The bandwidth available varied from 64 kbps to 1Gbps speeds during trial runs.
- Chief Minister of Tripura Manik Sarkar' has inaugurated the Northeast lndia's largest Information Technology (IT) hub at Agartala to boost employment and e-governance besides to export software technology. This IT hub would help to create employment opportunities for the IT educated youth and to further extend the e-governance to the doorstep of people. The Hub was set up at a cost of Rs.50 crore.
- Mboram has become the 27th State to join the Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana (UDAY). Mizoram has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the scheme on March 31 for opera-tonal improvement of the State's Power Distribution Department.

- Note : According to government estimates, the State will derive en overall net benefit of approximately Rs.198 crore by opting to Participate in UDAY, by way of cheaper funds, reduction in AT&C and transmission losses.
- In Nagaland Asiais largest church has been set up with a seating capacity of 85,000 people and it took a decade to build the Sumi Baptist Church.
- Subsidiary of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), Adani Logistics commissioned and commenced commercial operations at its multimodal logistics park at Kilaraipur, in Ludhiana, Punjab, to enhance connectivity to its Mundra Port. The terminal was dedicated to the nation by Railways minister, Suresh Prabhu.
- The Rajasthan government has signed a reworked MoU with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) for the Rs.43,129 crore Barmer refineries. The Barmer refinery will be the first in the country to produce BS-6 standard fuel. The state government will have 26% stake in the project while rest will be held by HPCL. The government has made 4800-acre land avail-able at Pachpadra for the project and expected to take four years to complete.
