Free travel facility for women students in Haryana
The Haryana government has decided to more than double the limit of free travel facility in the State Roadways buses for women college students. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved a proposal to increase this limit from 60 to 150 km, an official release stated here on Monday. The decision will benefit 2.15 lakh women students in the State.
Kerala is now a fully electrified State, declared by CM Pinarayi Vijayan
Kerala turned a fully electrified State on Monday as part of the celebrations to mark the Left Democratic Front government’s first anniversary. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who made the formal declaration at an event here, added a personal note by recalling his childhood in a village without electricity in Kannur district.


North Delhi Municipal Corporation Mayor Preeti Agarwal launched a new Android app to complain against parking violations
People around north Delhi will now be able to lodge complaints related to parking violations in the area with just a click on their mobile phones. The North Delhi Municipal Corporation on Monday launched a one-of-a kind mobile application, using which users can click pictures and post the parking violations for immediate action by the civic body officials.
Government to launch new campaign called Darwaza Band today
Government will launch new campaign called Darwaza Band today for promotion of toilet usage in the rural areas across the country. Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan, who leads the campaign, is proposed to be joined by Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Narendra Singh Tomar and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the formal launch event to be held in Mumbai. The campaign is being rolled out countrywide immediately after the launch. It is designed to encourage behaviour change in men who have toilets but are not using them. The campaign also features actor, Anushka Sharma, who will be seen encouraging women to stand up for this issue in their villages and assume a leadership role.

Union Human Resource Development Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar launched an Anti-Ragging Mobile App introduced by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in New Delhi. This app will work on android devices, students can register and login. Complaints can be register through this app.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 4th indo German inter-governmental consultations
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chancellor of Germany are attending the 4th Indo-German consultations and addressing the business leaders at the summit at Berlin. The two leaders will also hold ministerial level talks on various sectors at the consultations.Issues of climate change were also discussed and the two leaders observed the possibilities of including the same in the G-20 context.
Bangladesh coast affected by cyclone Mora
Cyclone Moracarrying the most severe danger warning signal number 10 hit Bangladesh coast at Kutubdia on Cox's Bazar coast early this morning. Heavy rainfall have been reported in Cox's Bazar, Patuakhali, Bagerhat and nearby areas. Hundreds of homes and trees have been reported damaged in St. Martin's Island off Cox's Bazar coast.

Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla has been appointed as the Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia
Manipur Governor and former Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla has been appointed as a Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia for five years by the University’s Court. Ms. Heptulla succeeds Lt. Gen. (Retd) M.A. Zaki, who completes his five-year term this month, Jamia Vice - Chancellor Talat Ahmad saif.

She (Najma Heptulla) is the first woman chancellor of the university since its establishment in 1920.

GST on all solar components cut to 5% from the 18% set by the GST Council
The Goods and Service Tax (GST) rate on inputs for solar components has been cut to 5% from the 18% set by the GST Council in its May 18 meeting, according to Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia. “All solar equipments and its parts would attract 5% GST only,” Mr. Adhia tweeted. This should put to rest concern in the industry, as the 18% rate was likely to have had a significant impact on solar energy tariffs.

Prasar Bharati and Morocco's SNRT signed MoU in broadcasting sector
Government-run Prasar Bharati has got into an agreement with Morocco's Societe Nationale de Radio diffusion et de Television (SNRT) to step up cooperation in the broadcasting sector. The MoU was signed during the fifth India Morocco Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) in Rabat.

Indian hockey team heads to Germany for three-nation invitational tournament
Indian men's hockey team today left for a three-nation invitational tournament in Germany starting Thursday. The 18-member squad is led by Manpreet Singh as regular captain PR Shreejesh is injured. At the tournament in Dusseldorf, India will play two matches each against Germany and Belgium.

It will be the 54th edition of the competition, and hosted by Germany for the seventh time.
