PM Modi chairs third meeting of NITI Aayog's Governing Council in Delhi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is chairing the third meeting of NITI Aayog's Governing Council in New Delhi today and during the meeting, action taken on decisions of the earlier two meetings of the Governing Council will be discussed in detail. NITI Aayog’s Vice Chairman Arvind Panagariya will present a roadmap for the rapid transformation of India by outlining key aspects of the 15-year Vision document, comprising the seven-year strategy document and the three-year action plan.

Concerns over H1B visa related developments conveyed at highest quarters in US:IT Minister
Union IT Minister Ravishankar Prasad has said that India's concerns over H1B visa related developments have been conveyed at the highest quarters in the US. He said, the IT ecosystem is based upon reciprocity approach, and India neither creates boundaries nor appreciates boundaries. Mr Prasad was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function organised by the Software Technology Parks of India in Bengaluru yesterday.

India becoming a hub of international arbitration: CJI
Chief Justice of India JS Khehar said on Saturday that India is becoming a hub of international commercial arbitration, fuelled by increasing foreign investment. He added that the government's 'zero interference' in the process will further promote the confidence of traders. Justice Khehar further praised the 'Make in India' scheme, saying it will make the country a favoured market.

Assam: BSNL all set to revamp network connection at border & interior areas
In Assam, public sector telecom company BSNL is all set to revamp network connection at border and interior areas at the cost of two thousand crore rupees. Participating in an AIR talk show in Guwahati, Chief General Manager of BSNL Assam M K Seth said that the proposal has been sent to the Centre under Digital India program for this. He said that all Gram Panchyats in Assam will be connected through optical fibre network by this financial year.

Venkaiah Naidu invites NGOs, Corporate entities to have partnership with Centet insetting up medical institutions
Union Minister for Information Broadcasting and Urban Development, M Venkaiah Naidu invited NGOs and Corporate entities to have partnership with Central government in setting up medical institutions across the country. Speaking after inaugurating a free health camp in Vijayawada today, Mr. Naidu said poor in the country are not able to get better health facilities due to scarcity of doctors and lack of health infrastructure.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure early construction of the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal, and sought a loan waiver scheme for farmers of Haryana. He also pleaded for speedy development of the Hisar Airport. Interacting with media persons after calling on the Prime Minister at New Delhi, the chief minister said the PM lent him a patient hearing on all aspects related to the SYL Canal.

Canada's Minister Harjit Sajjan visits Western Naval Command headquarters
Canada's Minister for National Defence Harjit Singh Sajjan visited the Western Naval Command headquarters in Mumbai today. A release from Defence spokesperson said that Sajjan interacted with Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Western Naval Command Vice Admiral Girish Luthra. The minister highlighted areas of congruence between India and Canada and the need to further enhance cooperation between both nations. The discussions looked at continuing the current level of military interactions and the possibilities of increased cooperation.
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu has said, the Centre is establishing more number of telemedicine centres across rural India. Delivering the silver jubilee convocation address at the Sri Ramachandra University, a deemed medical institution in Chennai, he said the telemedicine centres would be linked with pioneering medical institutions for the rural poor to get virtual consultation from reputed specialists. He said a portal for online registration of patients has also been established for getting appointments from doctors, access medical and diagnostic reports and a host of other medical services. He said a national 24-by-7 medical helpline is on the cards.

In France, voting for presidential election has begun at 8 am local time amid high security following a deadly attack on Paris police three days ago. About 50,000 police and 7,000 soldiers are being deployed across the country to secure polling. Eleven candidates are vying to be the country's next president, with leading candidates spanning the political spectrum from far-left to far-right. The two with the most votes will go to a run-off round in a fortnight's time. Four candidates are currently seen as being within reach of the presidency: the conservative François Fillon, the far-right leader Marine Le Pen, liberal centrist Emmanuel Macron and the far-left's Jean-Luc Mélenchon.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that Indian economy will grow at a clip of 7(point)5 per cent this fiscal, up from 7(point)1 per cent in the previous year. He said the growth remains resilient with low inflation, fiscal prudence and low deficit. Participating in G-20 finance ministers' and central bank governors' meeting in Washington yesterday, Mr. Jaitley said emerging economies have become increasingly important in driving global growth, accounting for more than 75 per cent of global expansion. An official statement quoting Mr. Jaitley said among emerging economies, India has been a major driver of global economic growth with an expected growth of 7.5 per cent for 2017-18 against 7.1 per cent in 2016-17.

In Tennis, Rohan Bopanna and his team-mate Pablo Cuevas will play in the title clash of Monte Carlo Masters tournament in Monaco today. The unseeded Indo-Uruguayan pair will take on the seventh-placed Spanish team of Feliciano and Marc Lopez. It will be Bopanna's third international final this year. He had won the Chennai Open with Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan in January, while finished runner-up with Marcin Matkowski in the Dubai Tennis Championships.
