Hello BA and friends .!!
This is Arnav Akarsh (SBI- PO 2015). It was hard (not impossible) to believe that a day will come on which I will be writing a success story after such a disastrous face to reality in 2nd yr of my college.
For a fast background reality check I didn’t do well in any of my exams in past (schools and even college) in spite of my prep. I somehow mastered in art of frittering away things. (out of my control)
This I realized after my 10th math’s Exam. Now back to real world. I got into college after 12th At first instance like everyone else my college looked damm awesome. I assured myself of getting placement after my engg. But soon realized it was far from reality in start of real engg in 2nd yr. Neither my college was good nor me in my engg stream (electrical). Somehow cleared B.Tech in electrical Engg by just mugging up and after passing things happened the way I expected. No job ,Tried walk-in interviews etc and job sites but soon realized all were waste. I had No option left but to sit at home. I don’t know what was I waiting for ,sitting at home I guess I was waiting for god to make a call and say u got a job(haha).
Its better to realize what you cannot do as simple as that. I realized that Technical stream is not my thing quite early. Around 1 yr has past and I had no job in hand. Then I started preparing for non-technical job SSC. I was in no mood of prep for “BANK JOB“ (I am human didn’t know my destiny). On last date application for SBI PO 2015 .I was “made to” apply disheartenly and knowing fully that its waste of money that I will not be selected as I don’t have that spark in me to get selected as 1 of 1976 out of 23,00,000 lakhs applicant’s across India.
My journey in Banking prep started with SSC prep diverted suddenly towards banking (I guess for right reasons). My journey started with a bang IBPS PO lV failed by 2 marks (78-cutoff 80)-Crushed like hell as I have to wait 1 more year of jobless life. Then comes result of IBPS clerk failed by 1 marks (123 cutoffs 124). Wow felt like some video game going on 2 then 1. Gr8 Start.
Then the Fibonacci series of success followed
IBPSPO lV - Not Selected (78/80)
IBPS Clerk 2014 - Not Selected (123/124)
IBPS RRB Assistant - Not Selected (failed in Hindi #No Excuse)
IBPS RRB PO – Not Selected (103.69/104.06)

UIICL Assistant - Selected
RBI GRADE B - Pre cleared (mains not given as joined SBI PO in Nov 2015)
IBPS PO V – Selected (87.25)
Dates that I will remember was the day of my Personal interview and GD i.e 09/09/15. When I entered interview room after GD I was hell so relaxed I don’t why either it was confidence that I took from a good GD or from inner (“bookish”) thought either you go broke or go rich there is no in between. Also i remember the day 16 October on which found my roll no in 1976 candidates across India selected as probationary officer in India’s largest Bank. There are lots of people to thanks in my journey (in my long dream run ) and they know it.
I followed “BA Capsules” which helped me a lot in maximizing my overall score.
