Service of delivering Milk for babies in trains launched by RailYatri :
Train travel marketplace RailYatri has launched a service to deliver warm milk in specially designed spill-proof thermos-like packaging for babies travelling in trains. The milk can be ordered through the RailYatri application at designated railway stations. It will be delivered to the berth so that passengers do not have to get off the train to collect it.E-commerce major Amazon has reportedly sought the government's permission to open food-only physical outlets in India along with an online platform to sell locally produced food items. The unit will sell third-party or own private labels of locally produced and packaged products. According to reports, Amazon will invest ₹3,500 crore in the outlets over the next five years.

AIADMK chief Sasikala Natarajan's choice, Edappadi K Palanisamy, was on Thursday sworn in as the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister by Governor C Vidyasagar Rao, along with 30 ministers of the state cabinet. He has been given 15 days to prove his majority in the Assembly. Palanisamy previously served as the Minister for Highways and Minor Ports in the state.

Environment Minister Anil Madhav Dave and Minister of Science and Technology Dr Harsh Vardhan today flagged off science express train in Delhi to tour across the country. Mr Dave said, Government is aiming to create awareness about climate change in every Indian citizen and making it a people's Movement.
He also said, every small preventive measure counts in curbing climate change and people have crucial role to play. Dr Harsh Vardhan said, the science express is going to spread awareness on climate change and ingrain culture of science in people.
In Karnataka, the Defence aviation major Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) which is setting up a full fledged helicopter development facility in Tumakuru, about 70 km from Bengaluru, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with Central Public Works Department (CPWD) for execution of infrastructure development works.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed at a programme held as part of Aero India 2017 in Bengaluru. The project spread over 615 acres of land allotted by the Government of Karnataka will house infrastructure for production and testing facilities, self-sufficient manufacturing capabilities of a wide range of helicopters of 3-ton to 12-ton class, HAL CMD T. Suvarna Raju said.
INTERNATIONAL:
India and Nepal have agreed to build new cross-border power transmission lines during their fourth bilateral meeting on power cooperation, reports said. The transmission lines will reportedly help in distribution of electricity from upcoming power projects in Nepal. India also expressed readiness to train Nepalese engineers and consider new letters of credit for building infrastructure in Nepal.

According to a filing, disappearing-photo application Snapchat will offer 200 million Class A shares for $14-$16, with an aim to raise $3.2 billion in its IPO. A possible valuation between $19.5 billion and $22.2 billion would make Snapchat's IPO the third-biggest technology offering of the past decade. Snap is the first US social media company to go public since Twitter.

IBM plans for emergency weather alerts without internet through Mobile app :
IBM is developing an Android app that will send emergency weather alerts on the phones even when an internet connection is not available. The app relies on 'Mesh Networking' technology to transmit data in areas where internet connectivity is weak. 'Mesh Networking' is a new technology that can transmit notifications from phone to phone via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Vikas Swarup has been appointed as the High Commissioner of India to Canada. Eight Executive Directors (EDs) have been appointed in various public sector banks on the recommendations of Banks Board Bureau.
- Neelam Damodharan and Atanu Kumar Das have been appointed as EDs in Bank of India.
- K Swaminathan, General Manager in Indian Overseas Bank, has been appointed as ED in the same bank.
- Ashok Kumar Pradhan will be appointed as ED in United Bank of India.
- P Ramana Murthy will be appointed as ED of Central Bank of India.
- Fareed Ahmed Khan, will be appointed as ED in Punjab and Sind Bank.

India's star shuttler PV Sindhu has risen to a career best BWF ranking of number five. She overtook Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi, as per the latest rankings released on Wednesday. This is the first time that Sindhu has broken into the top five.
Saina Nehwal, who is ranked ninth, is the other Indian in the top 10, while Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu Ying continues to lead the rankings. Saina had a rather forgettable year in 2016 as she had been out for most of the year due to a knee injury.
