1. World Philosophy Day observed worldwide.

  • The World Philosophy Day is observed globally on every third Thursday of November.
  • The Day, as initiated by UNESCO aims to underline the enduring value of philosophy for the development of human thought, for each culture and for each individual.

2. Google becomes a member of .NET Foundation Technical Steering Group.

  • The group was formed in March 2016 to provide directions of the popular Web services framework to other companies.
  • Microsoft, Google, Samsung, Red Hat, JetBrains, and Unity are now the members of this group.

3. Doctors from Netherlands create history – Perform the first Brain Implant.

  • Neuroscientist and researcher Nick Ramsay, from the University Medical School Utrecht lead the team for the operation.
  • The implant was performed on a 58 year old Hanneke de Bruijne from Netherlands, who was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in 2008 by installing a device called Electrocorticograph (ECoG) on her brain.

4. Russia quits from the International Criminal Court

  • Under a directive signed by President Vladimir Putin, Russia has issued the statement about its withdrawal from the International Criminal court.
  • Russia had signed the Rome statute, which governs the ICC, however, the agreement was never ratified By Russia to become a member of ICC.

5. India – China Joint Military Exercise 2016 begins

  • Hand in Hand 2016, the sixth Joint Military Exercise between India and China commenced at the Aundh Military Camp, Pune.
  • The exercise will take place up to 27 November 2016.
  • Lieutenant Colonel Li Guanghua, Commanding Officer of People’s Liberation Army commanded the Opening Day Parade.

6. Daily limit for exchange of 500 and 1000 currency notes to be reduced to Rs. 2000 from Friday

  • The earlier limit for the exchange of notes was Rs. 4500.
  • The notes can be exchanged once per person up to December 30th.
  • Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das also stated that the families can withdraw up to Rs. 2,50,000 for the wedding purpose from one account, provided the account is KYC complaint.

7. Women Commandos deployed against Anti – Maoists Operations for the first time

  • The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has deployed a team of Women Commandos for the Anti – Maoists Operations in Jharkhand.
  • The team consists of 135 commandos belonging to 232 battalion’s Delta company.

8. Flight Test of Rustom – II Drone conducted successfully

  • The successful flight test of India’s long endurance Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle (UCAV) was completed at Challakere, about 200km from Bengaluru.
  • The combat drone has an endurance of 24 hours and can conduct surveillance and reconnaissance missions for the country’s armed forces.

9. Lewis Hamilton grabs the top spot at the Brazilian Grand Prix 2016

  • The event concluded recently at the Interlagos circuit, Sao Paulo.
  • The British formula 1 racer was closely followed by the Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg, who finished at the second spot.
