• NCAER has pegged India’s GDP growth at 7.6% for 2016-17, following a pick-up in rural demand and “positive signals” on the manufacturing front.

Assam boy won 5 golds in South Asian Aquatic Championship

• 15 years old Assam's Bastab Tapan Bordoloi won five golds at the recently concluded South Asian Aquatic Championship in Sri Lanka

India wins 29 medals at Commonwealth Wrestling Championships

• India won 29 medals, including 13 golds, at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championships in Singapore on Saturday. 
• Among the gold medalists were Rio Olympian Sandeep Tomar, who won the men's 57 kg freestyle event, Satyawart Kadian in 97 kg and Amit Dhankar in 70 kg. India's female gold winners included Ritu Phogat in 48 kg and Reshma Mane in 63 kg.

News Time Assam to show black screen for a day for violations

• The Indian government has ordered that television channel, News Time Assam, be taken off air for a day on November 9 over multiple violations. The channel had revealed the identity of a child abuse victim.
