As you all are well aware that the Bank of Baroda – Manipal School of Banking PO exam is scheduled for 25th September 2016, So today we are going to provide you with some Last Minute Tips which might prove to be crucial to strategise for your exam.

First let us have a quick glance over the Exam Pattern for tomorrow –

Before you appear for the exam, take proper note of following –

  • Time Management is imperative to clear the exam. Remember you don’t need to solve all the questions. Select the questions you solve first carefully, keeping in mind your stronger areas. Try to first attempt the questions which are less time consuming.
  • Speed and Accuracy are other essential factors that will help you make it to the merit list. Try to solve the questions (especially in Quantitative Aptitude Section) within a minute.
  • Please keep in mind that there is Negative Marking of ¼ marks per question for each Wrong Answer.
  • After the Objective Exam, there will be a Descriptive Test of 30 minutes in English to test your Writing Skills. This test will also be conducted in Online mode.
  • Candidates are required to obtain a minimum score in each section to clear the Sectional Cut-Off and also a minimum total score to clear the Overall Cutoff in the online test to be shortlisted for Psychometric Assessment, Group Discussion & Interview.

Let’s now have a look at some important tips regarding the individual sections –

1. General Awareness

  • As mentioned earlier, 50 questions will be asked in this section, with emphasis on Banking Awareness as well.
  • The International and National happenings of the last 3-4 months should sufficiently cover most of the questions that might be asked in this section.
  • Try to go through the following topics –
    Government Schemes
    RBI in News
    Sports (Especially Rio Olympics and Paralympics 2016)
    National and International News
    Awards and Honours
    Recent Appointments
    Static GK Topics like Countries in News with their capitals and currency
  • Try to avoid guess work here.

    2. English Language

  • 50 questions will be asked in this section from following topics – Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, Sentence Improvement/ Correction, Spotting Errors, Fill in the blanks, Sentence Rearrangement.
  • Following are the Scoring Topics of this Section –
    Sentence Improvement/ Correction
    Spotting Errors
    Fill in the blanks
  • Try to attempt these questions first before others.

3. Reasoning –

  • A total of 50 questions will be asked from this section from the following topics – Syllogism, Puzzle/ Seating Arrangement (Circular/ Linear), Input – Output, Inequality, Coding – Decoding, Data Sufficiency, Miscellaneous Topics (Blood Relations, Direction, Ranking)
  • Scoring Topics of this section are –
    Syllogism
    Inequality
    Input – Output
    Logical Reasoning
  • If you feel confident enough about the above mentioned topics then try to attempt them first.
  • Do not waste time on any puzzle or arrangement if you feel stuck anywhere.

4.  Quantitative Aptitude –

  • This section will comprise of 50 questions from the following topics – Data Interpretation, Number Series, Quadratic Equations, Approximation, Miscellaneous Topics including Average, Profit/ Loss, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Problem on Ages, Ratio and Proportion, Partnership.
  • The Scoring Topics of this section are -\
    Data Interpretation
    Quadratic Equations
    Number Series
    Some Miscellaneous Topics
  • Try to be very attentive while solving the questions since a minuscule error in calculation can prove to be costly.
  • A good and consistent practice in this section can make all the difference in your exam score.

5. Descriptive Exam –

  • This section will consist of 2 questions (a letter and an essay), to be attempted in 30 minutes.
  • You will be given options for each question.
  • Try to avoid spelling mistakes while typing.
  • Try to stick to the word limit that has been assigned for each question.

Do’s and Don’t for the Exam –

  • Do not panic once the exam starts. Stay calm and start with the section you are most confident about.
  • Do read the questions properly first.
  • Do attempt the questions in the time you have assigned for each section and try not to spend more time than that.
  • Do not spend too much time on any one question.
  • Do not use guess work.
