Solutions:
Users of Cryon school goer of Cello and Romotac together = 32 x 0.45 + 72 x 0.42 = 14.4 + 30.24 = 44.64 thousands = 44640
Users of pens of Reynolds and Montex together excluding school user = 40 x 0.48 + 40 x 0.61 = 43.6 thousands = 43600
Required percentage = 100 x (44640/43600) = 102.4%
Pencil users of Linc excluding school goers = 90 x 0.45 = 40.5
School goers using pencil from Luxor = 50 x 0.42 = 21
Therefore, required percentage = 100 x (40.5 – 21)/21 = 92.875% = 93%
Number of pen users of Reynolds = 40000 x (52/100) = 20800
Total number of users of pencils = 45 x 0.48 + 30 x 0.52 + 75 x 0.55 + 20 x 0.5 + 90 x 0.45 + 50 x 0.58 = 21.6 + 15.6 + 41.25 + 10 + 40.5 + 29 = 157.95  thousands = 157950
Average crayon users = (32 + 72 + 50 + 36 + 80 + 75)/6 = 57.5
Average pen users = (40 + 60 + 40 + 40 + 64 + 80)/6 = 54
Hence the difference = 57.5 – 54 = 3.5 thousands = 3500
