As you all know, the Interview Call Letter for the post of Probationary Officer in State Bank of India (SBI) had been released yesterday. The Interview process will commence from 1thSeptember, 2016. Around 5000 candidates called for interviews for 2200 vacancies. SBI has declared the results of SBI PO 2016 Mains examination on 19th August 2016.
Doubt’s Clarification regarding Bio –Data form and Character Certificate
It is important to note that, SBI has also issued a Bio –Data form along with a call letter, which is required to fill only by candidates itself and necessary to bring it to the interview venue. As many of you are facing the problem, how to fill the fill the bio-data form? From where should we get the Character Certificate issued? So, in this article, we will try to clear some of your queries and doubt’s regarding Bio –Data form and Character Certificate.
About Bio-data form –
Bio – data form is a document which contains all factual information about an individual including personal facts such as date of birth, father’s name, gender, marital status, height, complexion, etc. It also includes data about the individual’s educational and professional history as well as their skills and hobbies.
Biodata, on the other hand, focuses on personal information other than just the person’s education and career experience.
Why does employer ask to bring Bio-data form during an interview? The employer will be looking to answer questions like:
1. Is this candidate a good fit for the position?
2. Does he or she have personal qualities to be successful?
3. Is their psychological profile a good fit for the team the candidate is supposed to work with?
4. Is the candidate moving forward in his or her career by acquiring knowledge, skills, attitude, habits and the qualifications?
Note: It is important to fill the actual and correct information in Bio-data form. So don’t be confused and in a hurry while filling the form. Before filling the form please clear your all doubt’s where you needed, and filled the form with correct information.
Character certificate
During an interview, you have to carry 2 Character certificates which should be issued by two different authorities.
1. One should be issued by – College or School administration or either by Past/ Present Employer.
2. One should be issued by Gazetted Officer – of State/ Central Govt., MLA, MLC, MP, Branch Head of State Bank of India or a Nationalised Bank.

Identity Certificate: Along with 2 Character certificate, you have to carry 1 Identity Certificate which should be issued by Gazetted Officer.
You can download identity certificate from page number 6 which is attached in Bio-data form.
Note:
1. One Character certificate should be issued by College /School administration or either by Past/ Present Employer.
2. One Character certificate issued by Gazetted Officer.
3. It is permissible that 1 Character certificate and Identity Certificate can be issued by same Gazetted Officer.
Note: Referee is an introducer who knows you very well either he/she can be your relative/teachers/neighbours etc.
