Direction (Q.6-10): Study the following information carefully and answer the given questions:
Six friends Aditya, Shivam, Jai, Inder, Shankar and Narendra from six different areas, viz Bhagalpur, Patna, Darbhanga, Katihar, Madhubani and Vaishali, go for shopping in six different shopping complexes, viz Sahara, GIP, CSM, V3S, Shipra and select City walk, but not necessarily in the same order. Three different types of transports are used by them, viz Car, Bus and Metro, in such a manner that two persons use the same type of transport but not necessarily in the same order.
1) Aditya uses car and lives in Vaishali but he does not go to CSM and select City walk.
2) The person going to Shipra Complex uses car and the one going to GIP uses bus.
3) Shankar uses the same type of transport as the person from Darbhanga.
4) CSM Complex is chosen by the person who uses bus.
5) Jai is neither from Bhagalpur nor from Madhubani and he goes to Shipra Complex.
6) One of the persons who use Metro goes to Sahara Complex.
7) Shivam is from Katihar and goes to GIP. He does not use the same transport as Inder.
8) Narendra is neither from Patna nor from Madhubani.
9) Select City walk and GIP Complex are not visited by the persons who use car.
10) The persons from Katihar and Bhagalpur are using the same type of transport.

Solutions:
1). a)In the whole transaction there is a gain of 5% and a loss of 5%, so calculating figures would be 105, 95 and 100.
B’s cost of price = 23.94 × 100/95
A’s cost of price = 23.94 × 100/95 × 100/105 = Rs.24
2). d)P + R + 2Q = 59; Q + R + 3P = 68
And P + 3(Q + R)=108
Solving the above two equations, we get P = 12 yrs.
3). d)Number of days taker, by B = (Number of days taken by A + B + C) x (3 + 1) = 10 × (3+1) = 40 days
Similarly, Number of days taken by C = 10 (2 + 1) = 30 days
Number of days taken by A = 1/[(1/10) – (1/40 + 1/30)] = 24 days
4). d)Since the cost of C α A2 => C = KA2
8000 = KA2 => K = 8000
If he were to etch a ½ m x ½ m glass, it will have an area of ¼ sqm.
C = 8000 x (1/4)2 = 8000 x 1/16 = 500
And 4 such glasses will fetch him Rs.2000.
Therefore, his loss will be Rs.6000.
5). c)Let A = 2x, B = 3x and C = 5x
A’s new salary = 115/100 × 2x = 23x/10
B’s new salary = 110/100 × 3x = 33x/10
C’s new salary = 120/100 × 5x = 6x
New ratio = 23x/10 : 33x/10 : 6x = 23 : 33 : 60
