Boost For The Day: DIE EVERYDAY

March 16, 2016

Dear BA'ians,
Does the title surprise you all a bit, does it leave you with a sense of morbidness?
Well then read on, to get rid of that feeling. Today together we will face the fear of Death! As human beings we have more often than not have been taught to escape conversation about death. Often forgetting, that the truth should always be looked at in the eyes and not made to run from.
A few weeks back a family friend Padma, succumbed to  2 year long battle against a rare cancer. She had just turned 14. Despite her tender age, she had the equanimity of a sage when she embraced death. It was indeed painful to see a super cheerful girl with a super mature heart fade away into the sunset of life.

Such stories of deaths, are a stark reminder of the utter mortality of life, at how momentary every thing is. It may sound pessimistic to think about death, but it is death which brings intensity and purpose to our lives.
Funny it might sound, but Death is the single greatest invention which would make us live a full life. Ironic but true. When one is aware of one's limited time in this world, one experiences a sense of urgency in our lives. An urgency to make the best of what we have now- The present. As  dark and cold death may sound, it is death which which may bring life to our present moment. People who are aware of their limited time are intuitively aware of their limited time are the people who are aware of the limits value that limited time possesses. Even if you are blessed with a life of 80 years, that is also just 28200 days. How many days are you left with to live fully?
Remembrance of death helps us prioritise what we really want in life.
Steve Jobs once shared " Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important thing I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life" Because all those energies which keep us busy from living- pride, fear, ego, failure, etc fade away in the face of death. What remains is what we are born for. Do remind yourself your limited time and pursue what matters most to you. Remember, there is nothing to lose. Only a life to live dear friends.
IF WE LIVED EACH DAY LIKE IT WAS OUR LAST, WE WOULD LIVE EACH DAY MORE FULLY!
Remembrance of death is also the force which sets us free in this very life. People who are aware of their imminent fate are bound to experience gratitude for what they have. They are bound to experience forgiveness and joy which sets them free for the shackles and chains of despondency( loss of hope), jealousy, regret, anger.
Life becomes too precious for them to waste on these petty emotions. These emotions might seem temporary, but use up a lot of our precious time. Most human beings spent majority of the time living t=in the thoughts of the past or the future, failing to cease the beautiful today, the now that is in our hand to encash, to make the most of.

In Mahabharath, Lord Yama once asks Yudhishtra as to what is the greatest wonder in this world?
To which he replies that his greatest wonder was to see people live as if they will never die and die as if the never lived.
Surely nobody wants to be a subject of  Yudhishtra's wonderment.
So dear friends, LIVE LIFE FULLY, AND TO DO THAT DIE EVERYDAY!!!

Let's block ads! (Why?)
