The Pie-chart shows the percentage of different types off employees in an organization and the table shows the percentage of employees recruited through two modes for the different posts among them in the organization.

2. What is the difference between promotee-recruit officer scale II and direct-recruit clerk?

Solution

1. The total number of employees of direct-recruit Clerk, Officer Scale I and Officer Scale II:
= {8000*(10+15+30)}/100=80*55= 4400

2. The difference between promotee officer scale II and direct-recruit clerk:
= {(8000*30%)*40%} – {(8000*10%)*30%}
= 960-240
= 720

3. Promotee in Officer Scale II= {(8000*30%)*40%}=960
Direct-recruits in Officer Scale III= {(8000*20%)*40%}=640
Required Percentage= (960/640)*100= 150%

4. Total number of employees in direct-recruit Officer Scale I and promotee Officer Scale IV:
= {(8000*15%)*100%} + {(8000*25%)*80%}
= 1200+1600
= 2800

5. Total number of direct-recruit Officer III={(8000*20%)*40%}=640
