  • Raghuveer Chaudhary, famous Litterateur of Gujarat awarded with Jnanpith Award 2015 on 28th December 2015. He became 4th Litterateur from Gujarat who awarded with this award.

Gujarat won 1st edition of Vijay Hazare Trophy

  • Gujarat won 1st edition of Vijay Hazare Trophy on 28th December 2015 after defeating Delhi. Vijay Hazare Trophy is a Cricket trophy played annually.

Haskell Wexler, famous Cinematographer of USA, died

  • Haskell Wexler, famous Cinematographer of USA, died on 27th December 2015. He was awarded with Oscar Award in the year 1966 for film ‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf’.

General Om Prakash Malhotra, former Chief of Army, died

  • General Om Prakash Malhotra, former Chief of Army and also the former Governor of Punjab, died on 29th December 2015. He was remained Ambassador of India to Indonesia during the period 1981-1984.

China launched Gaofen-4, the Earth observation satellite

  • Gaofen-4, the Earth observation satellite, successfully launched by China on 29th December 2015 from Xichang Satellite Launch Centre, Sichuan. It is a part of China High-resolution Earth Observation System (CHEOS).

18th Indian-Iran Joint Commission meeting held in New Delhi

  • 18th Indian-Iran Joint Commission meeting held in New Delhi on 28th December 2015 to review the bilateral cooperation between both the countries as chaired by External Affairs Minister of India Sushma Swaraj and Economic Affairs Minister of Iran Ali Tayebnia.

‘Guinea’ declared as Ebola free country

  • The country ‘Guinea’ declared as Ebola free country on 29th December 2015. Now, almost all the West African countries became Ebola free except Liberia. Earlier, the country ‘Sierra Leone’ was declared as Ebola free in November 2015.

  • Lallianzuala Chhangte of Mizoram became the youngest ever goal-scorer of India on 27th December 2015. He scored 2 goals against Nepl in South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Cup.
