Banking Pathway 2015: Daily Wordlist (From Various Newspapers)

Dear Readers,
Since several banking exams are lined up in upcoming months and vocabulary plays an important role to score 4- 5 marks within a few seconds, if you are memorizing words on the very daily basis. Here, we are providing you some words to help you to attain your goal.
1. Sagacious (Adj):- acutely insightful and wise.
Synonyms: perspicacious, sapient, sanguine
Uses: Wise and full of insight, Narendra Modi is the sagacious leader who would live on to better the world.

2. Piecemeal (Adj):- one thing at a time.
Synonyms: bit-by-bit, in small stages, step-by-step, stepwise, gradual
Uses: When you do something piecemeal, you're doing it little by little, but in a seemingly random way, with no order or system.

3. Rogue (N):- a deceitful and unreliable scoundrel.
Synonyms: knave, rapscallion, rascal, scalawag, scallywag, varlet.
Uses:  A rogue is a sneaky person who has tricks up his sleeve, not like a magician, but like someone who would steal your wallet or cheat at cards.
Trick: Mission Impossible Rogue Nation is an action movie, and the people who are admirer of Tom Cruise would have been watched this movie.

4. Perpetrate (V):- perform an act, usually with a negative connotation.
Synonyms: commit, pull
Uses: India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to “co-ordinate efforts to fight radicalisation and misuse of religion by groups and countries for inciting hatred, perpetrating and justifying terrorism or pursuing political aims.

5. Encompass (V):- include in scope; include as part of something broader; have as one's sphere or territory.
Synonyms: comprehend, cover, embrace
Uses: The statement which encompasses joint military exercises and greater security cooperation is also significant in the way it indicts Pakistan and state sponsored terror without naming the country. 

6. Parched (Adj):- dried out by heat or excessive exposure to sunlight.
Synonyms: adust, baked, scorched, sunbaked, dry
Uses: Something parched is excessively dry and hot, in extreme need of water, like a desert, a neglected plant, or your throat after a five-kilometer run.

7. Perched (N):- A position that is secure, advantageous, or prominent.
Synonyms: land, light, alight, roost
Uses:  A nightingale perched high on a tree.

8. Expatriate (N):- a person who is voluntarily absent from home or country.
Synonyms: exile, expat, deport.
Uses:  Julian Paul Assange is an Australian residents was expatriated so he sought refuge at the Embassy of Ecuador in London and was granted political asylum by Ecuador.

9. Sojourn (V):- spend a certain length of time; reside temporarily.
Synonyms: pass, visit
Uses: The doctor suggested I take a sojourn to the mountain for a few days to escape my hectic life.

10. Sophistry (N):- a deliberately invalid argument displaying ingenuity in reasoning in the hope of deceiving someone.
Synonyms: sophism, sophistication.
Uses: Subrata Roy tried to use sophistry to hide his illegal actions from the tax agency.
