RBI directives on FCNR(B) Foreign Currency Non-Resident (Bank) Accounts

RBI has ordered Banks to convert credit balances in any inoperative Foreign Currency into denominated deposits into equivalent Indian rupees If the Former remains not in use for three years from the periods of maturity of deposit But the Depositor can claims interest either in foreign currency or equivalent Indian rupees at prevalent exchange rate.RBI has directed banks to give three month prior notice to FCNR(B) Accounts holder for those which are not in use for three years and having no fixed maturity periods.

Pinaka rockets successfully test-fired

Pinaka rocket capability of destroying enemy at 40 km range ingeniously developed has successfully test fired thrice from a multi barrel launcher at an armament base in Chandipur on sea , near Balasore in Odisha.It can fire 12 rockets in 44 seconds.

DRDO has been without a head for the last four months after the contract of Dr. Avinash Chander as Secretary, DoDRD & DG DRDO and Scientific Adviser to Defence Minister was terminated with effect from January 31.

The Annual Hunger Report shows the no. of hungry people in the world has dropped to 795 Million people which is 216 million people less then in compare to 1990-92 statistics or around one person out of every nine, according to the latest edition of the annual UN hunger report (The State of Food Insecurity in the World 2015 - SOFI).

Saurabh Kumar Appointed Next Ambassador to Iran
