Venkaiah Naidu & Arvind Kejriwal will jointly inaugurate Heritage Line stretch of Delhi Metro tomorrow

Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will jointly inaugurate the Heritage Line stretch of Delhi Metro tomorrow. It has four stations : Kashmere Gate, Dilli Gate, Jama Masjid and Lal Quila. The new line is expected to take considerable load off Chandni Chowk and Chawri Bazar stations of Yellow Line. It is essentially an extension of Violet Line that runs between Faridabad and ITO presently.

Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has said the focus of the government under the leadership of Prime Minister NarendraModi has been on integrated development, inclusive growth and good governance.Mr Naidu said, government had taken various initiatives in the last three years for the welfare of the people ensuring SabkaSaathSabkaVikas. He was speaking after releasing 14 short films on various flagship schemes of the government in New Delhi today.He said, these films produced by Doordarshan would be showcased on all Doordarshan channels in Hindi and all other Indian languages to motivate and inspire people.

Government sets target of building 1 cr houses in rural areas by 2019: Minister of state Ram Kripal

In New Delhi today on the achievements of his Ministry during the last three years, Minister of State for Rural Development Ram Kripal Yadav said, one hundred per cent Direct Benefits Transfer (DBT) will be ensured under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana to bring in transparency and remove leakage. He said, rural development expenditure has been substantially enhanced by 62 per cent from 58 thousand 630 crore rupees in 2013-14 to 95 thousand 99 crore in 2016 -17. Mr Yadav said, under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, road construction has reached a record pace of 130 kilometers per day. He said, people can register complaint son construction of the roads by using mobile app- Meri Sadak. He said, under Swachh Bharat Mission, more than two lakh villages have been declared open defecation free.
World Bank offers help to make state Open Defecation Free: Haryana CM

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has said a team of experts from World Bank has offered to help to work towards Open Defecation Free, ODF, plus status. The state would achieve ODF status by 25th September this year and after that a cleanliness drive would start to get ODF plus status. ODF plus refers to total sanitation in terms of solid waste management, improved sewerage lines, storm water drains and pucca cement roads. Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, he said, 44 villages, two each from a district, would be taken up under a pilot project to ensure cleanliness by 1st November this year.The Chief Minister also said that the scope of Saksham Yuva Yojna has been widened from April to include graduates.

4 agreements signed between India and Mauritius including bilateral maritime security

India and Mauritius today signed four agreements after delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Mauritius counterpart Pravind Kumar Jugnauth in New Delhi. The agreements include New Delhi extending a 500 million dollar line of credit to Mauritius. In his address, after signing of the agreements, Mr.Modi said, the line of credit is an example of India’s strong and continuing commitment to the development of the island nation.
