Solutions Key:
1. D)The graph shows that the price of M and N type tiles decreases over the period
Now, for O type tiles the percentage increase from 2006 to 2012 is
(200 – 150)/150 x 100 = 250/50 x 100 = 33 1/3 %
For P type tiles the percentage increase from 2006 to 2012 is
(300 – 50)/50 x 100 = 250/50 x 100 = 500%
2. B)Average price of M during 2006 to 2012 = 1/7 (250 + 400 + 50 + 150 + 200 + 50 + 150) = 1250/7 = 178.57
Average price of N during 2006 to 2012 = 1/7 (300 + 350 + 250 + 350 + 300 + 350 + 250) = 2150/7 = 307.14
Average price of O during 2006 to 2012 = 1/7 (150 + 100 + 200 + 300 + 100 + 250 + 200) = 1300/7 = 185.714
Average price of P during 2006 to 2012 = 1/7 (50 + 200 + 150 + 100 + 250 + 100 + 300) = 164.28
Thus, N type of tiles show the maximum average price during 2006 to 2012
3. B)Average price of all tiles in
2006 => (50 + 150 + 250 + 300)/4 = 187.5
2007 => (100 + 200 + 350 + 400)/4 = 262.5
2008 => (50 + 150 + 200 + 250)/4 = 162.5
2009 => (100 + 150 + 300 + 350)/4 = 225
2010 => (100 + 200 + 250 + 300)/4 = 212.5
2011 => (50 + 100 + 250 + 350)/4 = 187.5
2012 => (150 + 200 + 250 + 300) = 225
Therefore in 2008, the average price of all four types is the minimum
4. C)Total price of all four types of tiles in 2012 = 150 + 200 + 250 + 300 = 900
Total price of all four types of tiles in 2009 = 100 + 150 + 300 + 350 = 900
Both are equal, so the required percentage is 0%
5. E)Required ratio = 200 : 250 = 4 : 5

7. B)Cost price per pen = 4.50
Selling price per pen = 8
Therefore profit = 3.50
Total number of pens sold = 30000
Therefore net profit = 30000 x 3.50 = 1.05 lakh
8. A)Total amount = 8 x 30000 + 10 x 40000 + 22 x 25000 + 25 x 60000 + 40 x 50000 = 24000 + 40000 + 550000 + 1500000 = 46.9 lakh

10. C)Profit of B = 40000 (10 – 5.5) = 180000
Profit of E = 50000 (40 – 25) = 750000
Required % = 180000/750000 x 100 = 24%
11. C)Number of shares sold in Chennai by Company A= (4200×62)/100=2604
Similarly, by Company B= (68×4200)/100=2856
By Company D= (36×4200)/100=1512
By Company E= (4200×54)/100=2268
Required ratio= (2604+2856)/(1512+2268) = (5460/3780)=546/378=182/126=91/63=13/9=13:9
12. B)Required difference= [8600×(40+25+45)]/100=[4000× (28+53+55)]/100= 86×110÷40×136=9460-5440=4020
13. D)Required % less= [(50×49-48×30) / (50×49)] ×100= [(2450-1440)/2450]×100=[1010/2450]×100 = 41.22%
14. A)Required average=1/6×4800[(60+30+40+50+57/100)]= (800×282)/100 = 2256
15. E)Required average %= (27+32+58+45+57)/5 =219/5=43.8
16. D)Total marks obtained by Mukal in Civics, Science and Mathematics
= (54/100)×50+(77/100)×100+(75/100)×200
= 27+77+150 = 254
Total marks obtained by Anand in Civics, Science and Maths
= (42/100)×50+(58/100)+(76/100)×200
= 21+58+152 = 231
Required difference = 252-231 = 23
17. A)Total marks obtained by Rajat
=(67/100)×200+(94/100)×75+(86/100)×100+(76/100)×100+(74/100)×75+(76/100)×50
= 134+70.5+86+76+55.5+38 = 460
Full marks of all subjects = 200+75+100+100+75+50 = 600
Overall percentage marks of Rajat
= 460/600×100 = 76.67%
18. C)Average marks obtained by all the students in History = [(52+94+88+70+64)/100×5] × 75 = 368×75/500= 55.2
19. D)Total marks obtained by Navneet in all the subjects together = (72/100)×200+(88/100)×75+(65/100)×100+(87/100)×100+(68/100)×75+(84/100)×50 = 144+66+65+87+51+41 = 455
20. D)Required % = [(74/100)×75]/ [(86/100)×100] = 64.53%
