BHADOHI — Amidst controversy over Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi's long sabbatical, former Union Minister Salman Khurshid has said wherever the leader is, he is completely safe.
"The opposition needs not to worry about Rahul. He is the commander of Congress and when he will return, he will return with special achievements which the world will watch," Khurshid told reporters here.
The senior Congress leader was here to attend a marriage function.
Khurshid said that instead of worrying about Rahul's whereabouts, the opposition should provide relief to the farmers who have suffered loss due to untimely rain as the issue was directly related to the central government.
He further said that those talking about handing over the reins of the party to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra should think upon that the brother-sister duo were an example of bonding in the country and high command will decide who will be party president.
